Prior Experience:

Minnesota’s Governor (2019-current), U.S. House of Representative member for Minnesota (2007-2019), served on House Committees on Agriculture, Veterans Affairs, Transportation and Infrastructure, and Armed Services Committee, served in the national guard (1981-2005), taught social studies and coached football at Mankato West HS (1996-2006), taught high school in China (1989)

Issues and Positions

Lower taxes for working families. 

Protect women’s reproductive rights and keep abortions legal. 

Create a healthcare system that provides more for working families. 

Increase background checks and preventions for purchases of guns.

Increase funding for the police to provide body cameras and employ more cops. 

Invest more into education to expand its budget to improve mental health resources and child literacy. 

Improve the nation’s infrastructure through rebuilding and renovations. 

Protect our environment through regulations along with providing incentives for cleaner energy alternatives. 

Provide more affordable housing. 

Legalize the use of cannabis and expunge non violent cannabis convictions.
